Someone once told me before that Without love, its not hate. Hate is to not love. Without love is indifference. No feelings. I always hear this verse "Being on fire for God". But how do we actually know that we are "On Fire"?
So i kinda picture every individual as kettles, being "On Fire" means being on the stove - the water will be boiling... i think in the spirit, when we're on fire, our spirit man will be like boiling water; Untouchable (hot mah), with lots of energy, very excited for the things of God. In wikipedia, it says, boiling is a type of phase transition. That includes melting, freezing.
Needless to say, when the kettle is freezing, its in the freezer - dark and cold. Most liquid freeze by crystallization, in which mass transfer of a solute from liquid solution to a pure solid crystalline phase. i remembered one of madonna's song called frozen, it says "You're frozen when your heart's not open, you're so concerned with how much you get, you waste your time with hate and regret, you're broken when your heart's not open". It's pretty obvious right?
i notice there's another phase transition called evaporation: it is molecules in the liquid state spontaneously become water vapour. It's neither boiling nor freezing. It's just vapourising. In the Word it says, rev 3 "i know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. i wish that you were one or the other! but since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth." Basically its like, time slowly eating up on whats left in the kettle, by the end of time, it'll just be just empty. I've met people who are very indecisive and halfhearted, uninterested. It's like speaking to a rock.. no reaction.
Of course we are not kettles/pots... we're more like earthen vessels, molded by God. Let us not remain lukewarm, lets us clinge onto the fire of God, even when it boils out of water, don't panic, Stay in the presence of God, have the faith that the holy spirit will pour down rivers of water into your empty vessel, to fill you up once again, God's grace is sufficient to pull us through. We don't have to wait for special guest speaker to come to be on fire, we don't have to wait for the latest praise and worship song, all the more we don't want to let circumstances to change us.
For now, i'll just pray that whoever is reading this will make a decision to be burning for God once again. Regardless of what you've gone through, regardless of what others have done to you, have the faith to trust god again.
No one ever said its gonna be easy....
... and i pray that i'll also do the same.
