i was watching this movie called "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" on cable channel ... yah lah yah lah.. i'm a tv addict... Anyway that's beside the point. I'm more intrigued by the perfume part... and now i roughly understand the process of making it... hahha... but too troublesome to make one myself...
Generally i like the movie..a bit morbid, kinda unrealistic and psychotic but it was very artistic. the set is in the 18th century of France, kinda reminds me of the french revolution...being amused by the fake wigs themselves.
Whats more interesting is that i realised that smell is something i subconsciously pay attention to and i'm surprised myself on the way i describe it sometimes. honestly... i usually stay away from people with fermenting smell backpacks/shirts/hair. i mean who don't? sometimes i think when we get used to a smell, our body naturally adjust to that scent such that we won't be able to differentiate it. LETS SAY hypothetically, if some one smells like dandruff for a year, i feel that that person can only differentiate things that is more stinky/fragrant that dandruff and that person won't be able to tell how dandruff smells like... well thats my theory through participant observation. You know how when we visit people's house and it smells different and the owner finds it normal...
There's a reason why people prefers chocolate to poop.
Same colour, different smell
As trivial as it sounds, but its one of those things that makes the first impression like memories being captured.. it sets the atmosphere to our emotions and feeling
As important as other senses.. remember our nose is not just for breathing....
